I just thought I would share some illustrations that I did for a beauty social media website called Not Just Powder. The brief was to create a character in many different settings, of beauty regimes. Here is one where the character is getting a manicure…. The way I did this was to do a pencil sketch, which was then approved…… Then I inked up the illustration by hand… Then I scanned it into Photoshop and cleaned it up…… after that I applied the colour….. I quite like the neutral and tight colour palette that the client wanted…… The effect is quite vector, but actually done on Photoshop and by hand sketching….. I have to say I find Illustrator limiting…. maybe I haven’t cracked the programme properly, but it’s easier for me to hand sketch and scan ! I enjoyed drawing the parrots for the dress….
